Sharon Finn's career has always involved artistic and creative endeavours ranging from mosaic works to designing the specialized lighting of concerts. Throughout her work there has always been a strong individual sense of colour even down to matching her socks with her tops.

She has evolved her techniques to produce a collection of fantastic and beautiful three-dimensional constructions in the form of mannequins and birdcages, embellished in intricate and magical ways using varied materials such as crystals, vintage jewellery and buttons, chicken wire, brass filigree and stampings.

These works have autobiographical overtones inspired from the family button jar to her spider phobias but ideally they speak to the universal. Celebrating domesticity and its doubled edged complexity and the body as a cage, our desire and inclination to adorn ourselves and spaces that we inhabit in order to express our desire and yearning for individuality.
